Welcome to the Euston Tower community website.

Thank you for visiting this website on the proposals for the future of Euston Tower.

Here, you can find out more about how the developed designs have been shaped as a result of community feedback, view information previously presented, find out how to get involved, and much more.

British Land is exploring the future of Euston Tower, which was built in 1970 and has been vacant since 2021 – to create a world leading science, technology and innovation building and public realm for Camden and the Knowledge Quarter that inspires, connects and creates opportunities for local people and businesses.

Revisions to planning application 2023/5240/P submitted – find out more and how to submit your comments

Following on from our community update events in November 2024, British Land has revised its planning application for Euston Tower. The revisions include changes to the massing and architecture of the building responding to feedback from the Council and local stakeholders, while increasing the public benefits delivered by the development.

Camden Council is now holding a period of statutory consultation on the revised application, during which time you can view the updated documents and share your comments with the council. All these documents can be viewed on the Camden Council planning portal (searching for the reference number 2023/5240/P).

We understand that the planning portal can be difficult to navigate as it requires large documents to be split into many parts. We have therefore uploaded all submitted documents to this website, which features descriptions of the information included.

We would like to thank the over 600 members of the local community who gave their time and ideas across 100 events and meetings over the last two years to help shape the designs for Euston Tower. Euston Tower will enable a number of benefits, including:

Pioneering workspaces for businesses of all sizes to accelerate the success of the Knowledge Quarter, including an enterprise space which will support local entrepreneurs and start-ups

A greener all-electric building fit for the future with sustainability at the heart of the design, reducing carbon emissions and waste

Safe, connected and fun public spaces at Regent’s Place, including a new civic square, green space, and opprortunities for learning, play and events

Helping to meet Camden’s housing needs. In discussion with the Council and in line with Camden planning policy, an opportunity to deliver much needed additional affordable homes on the Council-owned Tybalds Estate has been identified and we have committed to providing £27m of funding which could be used to deliver these

A variety of employment opportunities for local people, aspiring to enable at least 45 two-week work experience placements, 70 jobs, and 160 apprenticeships in the construction or STEAM industries

The Challenge

Transform the disused Euston Tower into a beautifully designed, sustainable new building, delivering pioneering workspace, accessible and inclusive spaces for neighbouring communities and supporting the development of the local community.

Vision

Create a world leading science, technology and innovation building and public realm for Camden and the Knowledge Quarter that inspires, connects and creates opportunities for local people and businesses.

Mission

Re-design the existing building to minimise its impact on the environment and ensure that it is fit for next 100 years, through partial deconstruction, reuse, recycling and use of low carbon materials.
